Distressed debt investors have not been very active for the past few years. The hope for a sharp downturn in global markets has not happened, leaving distressed debt investors circling fewer and fewer opportunities. The bull market and low rates are keeping troubled companies alive. Many of the large hedge funds have been positioning themselves for the future by providing financing to companies that are faltering keeping them from Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
